What is UN Sustainable Development Goals?

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals designed to address the world’s most urgent social, economic, and environmental challenges. They provide a shared framework for building a sustainable future and inspire young leaders to turn global vision into local action through informed policy and responsible leadership.

SDGs International Innovation Conference 2026

The SDG International Innovation Conference 2026 offers an intellectually rigorous and globally oriented programme that blends academic enquiry, entrepreneurial thinking and experiential learning. Rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the conference invites outstanding secondary school students from around the world to engage critically with pressing social, economic and environmental challenges, and to design practical, sustainable solutions grounded in real‑world contexts.

Hosted in Gongshu District, Hangzhou—a place where UNESCO‑recognised heritage meets contemporary innovation—the conference uses the city itself as a living classroom. Students work in culturally diverse, international teams to explore local challenges, conduct field research, and develop business proposals that align sustainability with economic viability. This approach reflects a distinctly British educational tradition: learning through inquiry, debate, evidence and application.

Across five intensive days, participants are guided by expert mentors through business case analysis, design thinking, and strategic planning. Students refine their ideas into professional‑standard business plans, presentation decks and public exhibition materials, culminating in a formal presentation and public review. The programme emphasises clarity of thought, persuasive communication and ethical leadership—key attributes associated with elite British education and global university preparation.

Beyond academic outcomes, the conference nurtures cultural intelligence, independence and confidence. Students leave not only with tangible project outcomes and awards, but also with an international network of peers, mentors and institutions that can shape future academic and leadership pathways.
