Following the successful conclusion of the inaugural China edition in 2026, this 36-hour extreme hackathon challenge officially hosted by MIT Hackathon Association and open to high school students worldwide - will once again bring to gather young students passionate about innovation, using code to solve real-world problems and creativity to shape a better future.

Programme Fee Information

Round 1 — Early Registration
Fee: HKD 4,480 per student

Application Process & Newcomer's Journey

Step 2: Claim Your Newcomer Welcome Kit - You will receive a Beginner's Guide to Hackathons, a tech-stack quick guide, breakdowns of past winning projects, and a weekly study planner - all written in plain language to answer the one question on every newcomer's mind: "What actually happens in those 36 hours?" No coding background needed.
Step 3: Get Matched With Your Dream Team - Fill out a short team-building form (your skill level, interest area and preferred role), and our team will match you with teammates whose skills complement yours and whose interests align. We'll kick things off with an online icebreaker, and you may request one rematch up to two weeks before the event - sign up alone, and you will still never be alone.
Step 4: Level Up at Out Weekly Online Workshops - HackMIT chairs, industry guests and past participants take the stage - from hackathon basics and tech selection to hands-on web, hardware, and mobile-app clinics, everything you need to fill the gaps. (The first three sessions are open to everyone, even before you register.)
Step 5: Lock In Your Project With Mentors - Dive into a beginner-friendly idea library and office hours, where you can brainstorm your concept one-on-one or in small groups with the academic team; submit your early idea a week before kickoff, and get written feedback on feasibility and suggested directions,
Step 6: Ask Anytime, Stay On Track - An ever-growing tech FAQ plus an online Q&A group, paired with team sync, help you clear roadblocks as they come - no more last-minute cramming.

Step 7: Arrive On-Site and Build With Confidence - After the opening ceremony, a dedicated newcomer session walks you through everything you need; a Help Desk stands ready throughout, MIT mentors roam the floor and open 1-on-1 bookings, and mid-event check-ins with every team keep you on pace to ship a working prototype and nail your final pitch.

Whether you are a coding expert or an innovation newcomer, no matter which school or city you come from, the HackMIT China stage is open to you. Here there are no thresholds, only a passion for innovation; here there are no standard answers, only infinite possibilities.
Refund Policy
A 50% refund of the programme fee, with 4% administrative and system processing fee deducted, will be issued for withdrawal applications made after payment is completed but before the course material package is sent.
The course material package will be sent via email to the email address provided during registration. Once the package has been sent, it will be considered successfully received. No refund requests will be accepted after the course material package has been sent.
If, before or during the HackMIT China 2027 programme, a participant is unable to participate or continue due to health reasons, the participant's guardian must notify the organising committee in writing and provide valid medical documentation. Any incurred costs, together with the 4% administrative and system processing fee, will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded within 60 working days.
If the programme or services are cancelled by AISL Mall, the 4% administrative and system processing fee will be waived, and a full refund of the amount paid will be provided.
Refunds will be processed within 60 working days after the participant has submitted a refund request and received a confirmation email from AISL Mall confirming the refund request, together with all required and valid supporting documents.
As an alternative to refund (where applicable), you may request to transfer your enrolment to another service or programme, subject to availability and our approval. Transfers may include programmes of a higher value, with any price difference payable by you.
