Description
Learning Outcomes
- Date: 18 June for English Language, 26 June for Cantonese Lanuage
- Delivery: Zoom, AISL Head Office on 34th floor, Office Tower, Conventional Office Plaza, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
This 90‑minute interactive session begins by situating AI within a global context, highlighting how schools and industries worldwide are adopting generative technologies. Parents will gain a clear, jargon‑free understanding of what AI is—and just as importantly, what it is not—exploring its capabilities, limitations and how it differs from traditional computer systems.
A core focus of the seminar is AI literacy and ethical awareness, including how to navigate issues such as misinformation, hallucinations and evolving school policies on AI use. Parents will learn how to supervise and guide their children’s AI usage in ways that support learning while safeguarding critical thinking and academic integrity.
Moving beyond theory, the course introduces a practical prompting framework (CREATE) that enables parents to communicate effectively with AI tools. Through guided, hands‑on exercises, participants will practise using AI as:
- a personalised tutor to explain complex concepts to children at different ages, and
- a supportive “parenting coach” to help problem‑solve everyday family challenges.
The seminar also offers a forward‑looking introduction to AI Agents and emerging tools, including platforms such as Manus, demonstrating how these technologies can automate tasks, generate creative content and streamline research—skills increasingly relevant in both education and modern work environments.
The session concludes with a reflective wrap‑up and interactive quiz, ensuring parents leave with clarity, confidence and immediately applicable takeaways. All presentation materials and example prompts are provided for download, allowing parents to continue learning well beyond the seminar.
