Students will begin by delving into modern environmental practices at Integral's Sustainability Garden before immersing themselves in timeless traditions. They will get their hands dirty creating their own natural tie-dye art and experience the full journey of Chinese tea, from picking the leaves to the final tasting ceremony.

The adventure continues with an exploration of Guilin’s stunning geological wonders. Students will venture deep into the magnificent Seven Star Cave to witness a subterranean world of karst formations and learn about its unique ecosystem.

The expedition culminates with a visit to the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill, a natural sculpture that has inspired poets and artists for centuries. This expertly guided tour blends academic learning with immersive experiences, fostering curiosity, independence, and a deeper appreciation for the intricate relationship between nature, culture, and innovation in modern China.

Day 1: Sustainability & Guilin Introduction

  • Start of tour, everyone meeting at Guilin
  • A tour to learn about sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship in a hands-on, engaging environment in Integral's Sustainability Garden
  • Night Market at Guilin

Day 2: Chinese Art & Culture

  • Visit China's first botanical garden for natural dyes at Xiangshan Garden & Tie-Dye Workshop. Students will see how dyes are extracted from plants and create their own tie-dye art.
  • Guilin's Outdoor Activity to choose from:
    • 1. Guilin Tea Culture Experience: from picking leaves to brewing and tasting, students will experience the entire process and cultural significance of Chinese tea.
    • 2. Iconic Elephant Trunk Hill:
      Visit the symbol of Guilin to learn about its unique
      geological formation and its importance in Chinese art
      and poetry.
    • 3. Seven Star Cave Exploration: an interdisciplinary tour of a magnificent karst cave,
      exploring its geology, unique ecosystem, and human
      history.

Day 3: Geographical Wonders

    and poetry.

Day 4: Adventure & The Arts in Yangshuo

  • Travel to Yangshuo
  • Via Ferrata Rock Climbing:A thrilling and safe climbing experience at a professional camp, designed to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
  • Impression Sanjie Liu" Show: Witness a spectacular outdoor performance on the Li River, directed by Zhang Yimou.


Day 5: Rural Landscapes & Departure

  • Kumquat Plantation Visit: Learn about the cultivation of the region's famous golden kumquats, gaining
    insight into the local agricultural economy.
  • Yulong River Bamboo Rafting: A relaxing and scenic bamboo raft
    trip down one of Yangshuo’s most
    beautiful rivers, offering a final view
    of the landscape.
