At HMUN, delegates assume the roles of world leaders and international decision‑makers—an exciting opportunity for young leaders to debate the most pressing issues of the day and to draft innovative, creative solutions. We ask delegates to think critically about the world around them in new and ambitious ways. What is the purpose of multilateral organisations like the United Nations? What goals can such organisations achieve? How do we balance the regional interests of a nation with those of the international community? How do we ensure that those with power use it responsibly? What can young people do to effect change in their own communities and the world at large?

HMUN 2026 builds upon seventy‑two years of prior experience. They will also receive personalised written feedback on their performance, including their strengths, areas for improvement, and specific recommendations for enhancing their research, participation and document-writing skills.

The Bootcamp Curriculum

Economic Foundation, Environment Foundation, Healthcare Foundation, Law Foundation, MUN Rules and Procedures, MNU Document Writing, MUN Academic Research, MNU Public Speaking, Debate and Critical Thinking, International Relations

HMUN Bootcamp Information

Dates: 11 -14 August 2026
Location: Qinglan School, Dongguan, Guangdong
Tutors: All courses will be taught in English by members of the Harvard MUN Executive Board.
Benefits: Upon the completion of all courses, students will receive an official certificate from HMUN

Eligibility

Grade 7 - 12 (12 -18 years old)

Who Should Join?

This bootcamp is ideal for:

Students new to Model United Nations with no prior experience, wishing to systematically learn MUN rules and procedures, academic research methods, conference document writing, and full‑English public speaking skills to prepare comprehensively for formal sessions.

Students with some MUN experience, aiming to strengthen debate and logical reasoning, diplomatic negotiation, and crisis management skills, thereby improving performance in official conferences and competing for awards.

Secondary school students eager to familiarise themselves with Harvard MUN’s academic framework and conference rules, and to immerse themselves in English‑medium instruction delivered by the Harvard MUN Secretariat, enhancing both academic ability and English proficiency.

Students wishing to complete topic research and position papers in advance, enabling them to adapt quickly to the pace of formal sessions and perform at their best during the conference.

What Will Student Learn?

Students will rapidly master the core skills required for Model United Nations participation, including conference procedures, academic research methods, position paper and resolution writing, public speaking in English, debate and negotiation, and crisis management.

Participants will also receive targeted guidance to enhance their conference performance, gain familiarity with the Harvard MUN academic framework and conference rules, and complete topic research and position paper preparation before the conference.

HMUN Training Bootcamp Fee

HKD 9,568 per person (Includes accommodation and meals during the training camp. The Science Olympiad, the authorised unit of the Harvard Science Olympiad, originated in 1984 and has been steeped in history for more than 40 years. Each year, it attracts more than 6,600 teams from all 50 states and more than 60,000 U.S. high school students, and has become an event widely recognised by U.S. universities. Our mission is to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and introduce young minds to the vast and interconnected world of STEM. Participants first begin with open-round examinations that challenge students to apply what they’ve learned in unique and interesting ways and encourage them to build a strong foundation across STEM. Qualifying candidates are then invited to a week-long STEM camp run by Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad (HUSO). Through hands-on experiences, mentorship from experts, and exposure to cutting-edge topics they may have never encountered before, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the power of interdisciplinary science.

Building on this foundation, the Harvard Science Olympiad Challenge · China (HUSO China) was born. It is a 5-day immersive research experience camp, created by the Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad specifically for middle and high school students in China.
